With processors developed for smartphones and tablets now capable of delivering GFLOPS of performance and higher performance per Watt than even the densest servers, an emerging trend is the adoption of these embedded computing technologies for HPC.=0A=0AMany challenges remain before the HPC community can fully exploit processors from the embedded space. In particular, much of the HPC software stack on which the community relies, such as Fortran compilers and optimised math libraries, do not exist yet for embedded processors. =0A=0AThis BOF will feature talks from major proponents in this area, including Krisztian Flautner (ARM), Jack Dongarra, Thomas Ludwig (Energy-Aware HPC conference) and one of the server companies starting to build products based on embedded processors.=0A=0AA new, open community website for Energy Efficient HPC based on embedded processors will be officially launched at the BOF.
