HPC centers are under increasing pressure to collaborate, to find alternative sources of funding, to innovate in novel ways, and to maintain performance over time. Some centers are reaching unprecedented scale in size and scope. In many ways, these centers are looking like more traditional organizations. But, of course, in many ways they are completely different. The goal of this "birds of a feather" session will be to discuss the following:=0A=0A- What are the contemporary challenges in managing contemporary HPC centers? Are these challenges different than the past? if so, in what way?=0A=0A- Can managers of HPC centers learn from other domains in areas such as strategic planning, operations, software development, etc.? What best practices apply and do not apply to such centers?
