This partially-built system achieved the world’s best LINPACK performance of 8.162 petaflops and an extraordinarily high computing efficiency ratio of 93.0% by some 68,544 processors. When completed, the K computer will consist of over 80,000 processors i.e. over 640,000 cores. The balance between power consumption, reliability and application performance efficiency are key issues for a system with such huge numbers of cores. Fujitsu’s technologies achieve the required balance with SPARC64™ VIIIfx processor, “Tofu” – the six-dimensional mesh-torus topology interconnect, and using Integrated Multi-core Parallel ArChiTecture which realizes a highly efficient hybrid programming environment.=0AIn the session, I will explain our latest HPC architecture and product line-ups, including the high-end supercomputing solution as epitomized by the K computer.
