InfoSymbiotics embodies the power of Dynamic Data Driven Applications Systems (DDDAS) paradigm, where data are dynamically integrated into an executing simulation to augment and complement the application model, and, where conversely the executing simulation steers the measurement processes of the application system. In essence, it dynamically integrates and unifies the computational modeling aspects of an application system with real-time data acquisition and control aspects. The talk addresses opportunities for new capabilities in many application areas through InfoSymbiotics/DDDAS, and will also present research challenges and opportunities in application modeling, in dynamic management of heterogeneous instrumentation resources, and in systems software supporting such environments.
