As computing continues to grow, servers and datacenters in the US consume more than 1.5% of the total electricity consumption. While enhanced datacenter efficiency and metrics like PUE have brought forward significant improvement, we must now envision game-changing innovations, fostering smart cooling, heat re-use, renewable energy, and full lifecycle sustainability.=0A=0AThis workshop will keep the audience abreast of trends in HPC energy efficiency in system software and architecture, as well as datacenter and power system design. It includes a talk on green storage, focusing on data intensive science. This annual workshop is organized by the Energy Efficient HPC Working Group (http://eehpcwg.lbl.gov/). Speakers include Satoshi Matsuoka/TIT, Ingmar Meijer/IBM, Anna-Maria Bailey/LLNL, Michael Patterson/Intel, William Tschudi/LBNL and Alan Yoder/NetApp. They are well known leaders in energy efficiency for supercomputing and promise a lively and informative session.
