When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side
is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own
schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal
schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook
calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be
stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your
own schedule to guide you through the week.
You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.
OrangeFS/PVFS: Developments, Direction, and Discussion
SESSION: OrangeFS/PVFS: Developments, Direction, and Discussion
EVENT TYPE: Birds of a Feather
TIME: 5:30PM - 7:00PM
SESSION LEADER(S):Walter Ligon, Boyd Wilson, Mike Cannon
ROOM:TCC 202
ABSTRACT: OrangeFS is the next generation of PVFS, an open source, distributed, parallel file system for high performance computing.
This BoF will serve two goals, the first being to have a community discussion on the current state of OrangeFS and development that is under way. The second goal is to solicit input from the community on all aspects of OrangeFS development, including features, characteristics and target workloads, to help set the direction of OrangeFS.
PVFS was developed primarily for systems running highly parallel scientific workloads. It focused on maximizing throughput for large transfers between disk and memory. OrangeFS is also targeting medium scale HPC, cloud, and enterprise level computing. While sustaining high performance, the OrangeFS project is also focused on diverse clients, smaller file support, security, and metadata performance.
