When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side
is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own
schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal
schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook
calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be
stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your
own schedule to guide you through the week.
You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.
True Stories from High Performance Computing: Enabling the Improbable
SESSION: True Stories from High Performance Computing: Enabling the Improbable
EVENT TYPE: Birds of a Feather
TIME: 12:15PM - 1:15PM
SESSION LEADER(S):William R. Scullin, Adam Yates, Jeff Hammond
ROOM:WSCC 206
ABSTRACT: Our experiences with High Performance Computing are highly varied and often exhibit great examples of achievement, technical and scientific ability, unmitigated disaster, unlikely achievement, and of course - humor. This BOF is a story slam in which individuals will have the opportunity to share their own true High Performance and Scientific Computing themed story. All stories will be limited to no more than five minutes, and while we permit names to be changed, all stories should be based on real life experiences. Session leaders will provide an introduction, guide speakers, and lead audience members in voting for their favorite stories at the close of the session. Those participants who shared favorite stories will be awarded Seattle themed gag-prizes.
