When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side
is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own
schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal
schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook
calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be
stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your
own schedule to guide you through the week.
You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.
Cardiovascular Hemodynamics Simulation including Time Dependent Deformational Forces
SESSION: George Michael Fellowship Presentation
EVENT TYPE: George Michael HPC Fellow Presentation
TIME: 10:30AM - 11:00AM
SESSION CHAIR: Mark Hoemmen
Presenter(s):Amanda Peters
ROOM:TCC LL4/LL5
ABSTRACT: I will present a large-scale hemodynamics simulation. In this work,
the Lattice Boltzmann method is used to model the flow in patient
specific geometries derived from computed tomography angiography (CTA)
data. I will provide here the derivation for introducing the
deformational forces exerted on the arterial flows from the movement
of the heart by borrowing concepts from cosmodynamics. Here I will
discuss this method as well as provide an analysis of the impact of
these additional forces on the endothelial shear stress, a quantity
associated with the localization and progression of heart diseases
like atherosclerosis, and the techniques leveraged to achieve
excellent scaling on up to 294,912 processor cores.
