When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side
is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own
schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal
schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook
calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be
stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your
own schedule to guide you through the week.
You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.
Leverage High Performance Cluster Computing to Revamp Data Centers and Detect Fraud in Big Data
SESSION: Medical/Decision Support
EVENT TYPE: Masterworks
TIME: 3:30PM - 4:15PM
Presenter(s):Tony Middleton
ROOM:TCC 301/302
ABSTRACT: Ingesting, processing, managing and extracting value from big data is becoming one of the biggest challenges for large organizations such as banks, telecommunications firms, health care organizations and other large data driven organizations. Our presentation will present a technical overview of innovations in data intensive high performance computing and how big data processing and delivery engines can be built on commodity based high performance computing cluster technology. Various case studies will be presented to demonstrate how these systems can cut millions of dollars in cost from large data centers and can be used to find fraud, waste and abuse in big data in industries as diverse as telecommunications, health care and mortgage banking. This discussion will also focus on the use of next generation data-centric programming languages to create novel architectures for efficient processing.
