SC is the International Conference for
High Performance Computing, Networking,
Storage and Analysis

SCHEDULE: NOV 12-18, 2011

When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your own schedule to guide you through the week.

You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.

ABSTRACT:
The massively parallel computational performance of magneto-hydro-dynamic (MHD) code is evaluated on the scalar type supercomputer system. We have made performance tuning of a three-dimensional MHD code for space plasma simulations on the Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX200 S6 (Xeon X5670) which is the new supercomputer system at Kyushu University. For parallelization of the MHD code toward peta and exa scale computing, we use three-dimensional domain decomposition method. As the results, we obtained the computation efficiency over 30% using 4704 cores (16TFlops) and good scalability. On the other hands, using the other supercomputer systems, we found that the computation efficiencies on Hitachi HA8000, SR16000/L2, Fujitsu HX600 and FX1 systems are less than that of PRIMERGY RX200 S6. The efficiency on NEC SX-9 which is the vector type computer is comparable with that of PRIMERGY RX200 S6.
