About 35% of aerodynamic drag of two-box type car is occupied by aerodynamic drag on backward face of the car. However, flow behind the backward face of the car is too complex to clarify its structure of flow by wind tunnel tests or non-transient Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) due to backflow in the wake, three dimensional vortex tubes, and time dependent stream lines.=0AVery Large Eddy Simulations (VLES) was employed to clarify structure of flow behind the backward face of the car. The result indicated that backflows generated a vortex tube structure behind the backward face of the car. Parametric studies of shapes of backward face of the car were performed by the VLES and clarified relationships between the vortex tube structures and aerodynamics drag behind the backward face of the car.
