Communities Program

The Communities Program seeks to engage students, educators and researchers to prepare them to be tomorrow's mainstream contributors to high performance computing and future SC conferences. SC11 encourages students, researchers and faculty from among underrepresented communities, educators, early-career students, professionals, and international groups to participate in the SC conference through one or more of the following programs: Broader Engagement , Education, Student Cluster Competition, International Ambassadors and Student Volunteers, as well as other special programs being planned, such as the Student Job Fair, George Michael Memorial Ph.D. Fellowship, and the Mentoring Program. With an aim for increased synergy with the Technical Program, each of the programs in communities will place emphasis on data intensive science, the SC11 thrust. Limited support is available for some of these programs; see below for information on how to apply and participate.
