ABSTRACT:
The vision of the Campus Champions program is for faculty, IT professionals, and students on every campus to be able to easily provide and/or utilize the cyberinfrastructure (CI) resources available locally, regionally, nationally and/or internationally to advance science and engineering research and education. The program provides a vibrant national organization of campus representatives working together towards this vision. Champions are trained on a variety of CI resources and services and are able to assist local users in bridging from their desktop to those resources in support of computational science research and education. The program has three goals: empowering Champions by providing access to resources and people with extensive CI expertise, providing solutions for bridging to CI resources which simplify access between CI resources and the campus desktop, and engaging new, non-traditional, and under-represented campuses and users to advance STEM research and education.
