SC is the International Conference for
High Performance Computing, Networking,
Storage and Analysis

SCHEDULE: NOV 12-18, 2011

When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your own schedule to guide you through the week.

You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.

Parallel Computing with MATLAB

SESSION: Programming & Environments II

EVENT TYPE: Exhibitor Forum

TIME: 1:30PM - 2:00PM

Presenter(s):Jos Martin

ROOM:WSCC 613/614

ABSTRACT:
MATLAB together with Parallel Computing Toolbox provides a rich environment for parallel computing that is suitable for beginners and experienced technical computing users alike. Today these users are having to undertake more complex and computationally intensive simulation, modeling and analysis tasks. Our environment provides these users with the tools they need to carry out their work on hardware environments ranging from GPUs, multicore machines to clusters, grids and compute clouds. This presentation will introduce some of the broad range of features this environment provides, including parallel language constructs, parallel numeric algorithms (including those for GPUs), interaction with batch environments, and MPI-like functionality. We will present how we have evolved the environment in response to the changes in computing landscape over past few years (e.g. Cloud and GPU computing) while keeping strong focus on the requirements of MATLAB users.
