When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side
is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own
schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal
schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook
calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be
stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your
own schedule to guide you through the week.
You can also create your personal schedule on the SC11 app (Boopsie) on your smartphone. Simply select a session you want to attend and "add" it to your plan. Continue in this manner until you have created your own personal schedule. All your events will appear under "My Event Planner" on your smartphone.
ABSTRACT: The goal of Data Intensive Biology is the understanding of biological processes through models and algorithms of mathematics, statistics and computer science using the vast volumes of data generated by new technologies. Currently, data and analysis resources lag behind the rapidly evolving needs of the field. This disparity in needs and resources is being examined through multiple avenues, most recently during the Second NSF sponsored Data Intensive Science Workshop (DISW-2, May 16-17, 2011). This workshop expanded the findings of DISW-1 (2010) and acknowledged the need for a Data Intensive Biology Alliance to be a voice and framework for the needs of the community. We are actively formalizing the alliance, and have compiled a mailing list of over 60 members. DISW-3 will describe data intensive biology challenges and the Alliance to the HPC community, and will elicit feedback to contribute to solutions.
